yahoooo!
i'm one step closer to a lifelong dream - being on Jeopardy!

they did an online audition thingy a few weeks back. i did it and apparently i passed. now i get to go to Chicago in June to play a mock game and get interviewed and possibly get added to the pool of people they randomly choose from to get contestants for the show.

whee!

the fun part is, i now have to fill out a bio sheet with 5 interesting things about me (the fodder for the chat-with-Trebek bit after the first commercial break). anybody got any ideas/requests of things i should put in there? :)

also, if anyone's got tips of fun places to see/stay for an early June weekend in Chicago, pass 'em along...

The Bristol Faire opens June 8. That covers all but the very earliest weekend in June. It's a couple hours out of the city, so you'd have to plan accordingly, but I've heard that it's very good.

one of the altime best, most famous veggie restaurants is in chicago. and the name escapes me. HA! <something> diner. if you want to know, i'll get it for you.
most of what i saw in chicago was slam poetry at nationals 3 years ago. i also saw a crazy enviro festival and hung out with a duo who have a vegan clothing company. that's really no help, i know.
if slam poetry interests you at all, the place where all of slam originated is in chicago and still hosts weekly slams: the green mill.
oh.. and wicker park. i think that was the name of the area where all the cool artsy stuff happened. ??

that's the first name that popped to mind, and i thought i must be making it up. "the diner in chicago.... the chicago diner? nah. that can't be it." but yeah, i checked the site and that's definitely it. :)

b) because that would mean that i've actually got my life back after complete work-related insanity. :P
